FileSelect[action]

creates a system dialog which returns file/foldername action can be "FileOpen","FileSave" or "Directory".

FileSelect[action,{type}]

same but allows the definition of filetypes for "FileOpen" and "FileSave" e.g. "jpg" or "pdf".
